This week you have reviewed various strategic plans and laws for homeland security and are aware of the organization’s structure and stakeholders. In addition, in reading the Caudle article (pages 12-13), there are several characteristics identified for an effective national strategy that includes purpose, scope, task/goals, and security challenges.
For this discussion, provide an analysis of the current DHS strategic plans by explaining whether they meet the characteristics identified by Caudle. Next, provide at least two recommendations that you would make to DHS in the areas of their goals, highest priority areas and blind spots, and organizational structure and performance.
