Website design

Description

Section I
Complete this initial plan for your website.
TITLE – Title of your website. Identify a literate visual that represents you and/or your website. The home/main page of the proposed website should include and feature a visually literate image that can be a LOGO or some other visual that represents the website and its creator (the NIKE swoosh, the Miami dolphin, the Olympic games five rings, for example)
MISSION – What is your mission? (brief statement of the general purpose of the site)
AUDIENCE – Who is your audience? (educators, trainers, customers, key group, for example)
NEEDS ANALYSIS – Why do users need this site?

LEARNING OBJECTIVES – What do you want them to learn as they use your site? Write objectives in the same format as any other educational objective – in performance terms.
ASSESSMENT – How will you know your participants have accomplished the learning objectives? (participant assessment of learning activities)
RESOURCES – What web resources will you use to support the learning process? (5 to 10 Web sites that your participants will use to support their learning process)
COPYRIGHT – How will you incorporate information for participants on copyright? (Assuming that your audience understands the basic rules of using information, sound, and graphics found on the Internet)
SPECIAL NEEDS – How will you accommodate participants with special needs? (visually impaired, etc.)
NAVIGATIONAL AIDS – What navigational aids will you use to make navigating your site pleasant and not confusing to the user?
ACCESSIBILITY – Is it accessible on mobile devices?
EVALUATION – How will you evaluate your site’s success? (final evaluation from target audience on the value of experience and ease of use) This is not an evaluation of the users but how well the site was designed.
LITERATUE VISUAL/VIDEO – The website will contain at least one visual (still image or very short video clip) that is literate. The visual should communicate without the need for words and should have a direct relationship to the mission and purpose of your website. For example, an image of a parent taking a child to school; or a 10 video of a drone launching over a business).
Section II
Prepare a topic outline of a training session/workshop that you will conduct using your site as the means of delivery. Prepare your topic outline and include activities and strategies that will be used to meet the individual needs of the participants. You will not create this training, but your new website will contain a link to training materials, including this outline for this training.
