Description

Question: When caring for patients it is important to be cognizant of your biases and stereotypes. Implicit bias is not necessarily a thought that you have but a reaction you feel when you see a certain person or group of people. What type of gut reaction do you have when caring for patients from diverse backgrounds? Reflect on what your gut was trying to tell you. Is the feeling that you have based on a trigger or what someone once said to you? How can you overcome implicit bias to provide holistic care for your patients?
