PART 1—-
Now that you have had the opportunity to get to know me and have heard about my life it’s time for you to introduce yourself. Start your discussion thread and introduce yourself to the class. Upload a profile picture and give us a who you are “elevator speech”….. Describe who you are, where you come from, why you’re taking this course, and what your major is. Include your likes and dislikes (food, sports, hobbies, ……) and anything you stand out at. Have fun with this and no judgment please, this is an inclusive classroom, and this part is to help you connect, build classmate relationships, and open your eyes to the diversity within our class that also exists in children and how they develop so please respect all, Thank You!!
PART 2—
Reflect on your thoughts and reactions to the readings assigned this week on the historical experiences of Native Americans. In your response discuss how settler colonization and the government’s role in removing Natives from their homeland has shaped American history, as well as the concept of decolonization as it pertains to the Native American response to these experiences.
