Description
This assignment is to create a Formal Proposal to create your website. This assignment will allow you to finish planning and define the parameters that your website will encapsulate while also creating a roadmap for its success. In short, the proposal should outline the who, what, when, where, why, and how of your website and define your content strategy as a means of delivering this web experience before you get started with its actual creation. The proposal should allow you to clearly and concisely gather all of your thoughts on this big project. The Formal Proposal will consist of four components: 1) a written proposal of at least two single-spaced pages (minimum of 1,000 words for this element), 2) a fully complete and thoughtful Voice Chart 3) a revised and updated Visual Site Map (refined from the one in “Site Map and Annotated Bibliography”), and 4) an improved annotated bibliography (also refined from the PDF mentioned above) with a minimum of five fully cited and discussed (hence the annotation) sources that will aid, or otherwise provide content / research for your website. (Please see the included rubric below)Component I (Write a Website Proposal of Two Single-Spaced Pages with a minimum of 1,000 words): Unveil your plans by defining your website purpose, describing your website audience (or target demographic), and describing what a successful experience for the user will look like. Please start by selecting your website platform (Wix, WordPress, Canva, Squarespace, etc.), then define the experience you want to create. What is your website and what will it do (purpose)? Who is it for (i.e. who is the audience)? How would you define “success” for your website, i.e. what are your personal goals in creating this website? What do you hope your users will feel or how will they react after experiencing it? Finally, set and share the three core principles of voice that will guide the style and tone of your website interface. For example, “casual,” “fun,” and “informative.” Or “formal,” “logical” (reason-based, i.e. logos), and “well-researched,” etc. To describe this all in another way – why are you creating this website, what will your website do, and how will it feel?Component II (Complete a Voice Chart for your Website): Next, please define your content strategy by filling in your own voice chart. What are the core priorities for your content strategy in terms of style and tone – i.e. the voice you plan to use in the creation of your webpage? To quote Podmajersky, “think systematically about the deep connective tissue of the content: the core terminology and the voice that permeates the conversations the experience has with the people who use it.”Component III (Revise your Site Map): Plan the form and structure of your website as the vehicle that will launch the content strategy from Component II. Please layout the foundational framework of your website by refining your Site Map, i.e. please provide a basic sketch of the organizational work to be done on your website to enact your content strategy. This should be a refinement or expansion of your work from last week.Component IV (Refine your Annotated Bibliography so that it includes a minimum of Five Annotated Sources): The proposal will conclude with a refinement of your Annotated Bibliography from last week. Please note that I am looking for a minimum of five fully cited and annotated sources for use in the creation, research, or utility for your website. Remember, one source can be the Podmajersky textbook. Please upload each element as a separate file: 1) The Two-Page Written Proposal, 2) The Voice Chart, 3) The Revised Site Map, and 4) The Complete Annotated Bibliography. An example of this assignment has been attached for refrence. The initial proposed Site Map and Annotated Bibliography has been attached. Furthermore, the last page of the same PDF includes a Feedback on the proposal. PLEASE FIRST REVISE THE SITE MAP AND BIBLIOGRAPHY USING THE FEEDBACK, THEN CONTINUE WITH COMPONENT I !!!Also refrence chapter 8 and 9 of the book, Strategic Writing for UX, attached below for this assignment.
