Considering your own family (family of origin, family of choice, etc.), briefly describe several (at least 5) factors that influenced your understanding and definition of family. For each factor, explain in detail how that factor influenced your understanding of family, and how it will influence your work with families, either positively or negatively. Finally, for two of your (at least 5) factors, connect the factor to one of the family theories or theorists described in the readings.Then, apply the Family Life Cycle to your family. How have you seen your own family progress through this cycle? Finally, critique the model. What are its strengths? Are there flaws that you see in the model that might need an update to be more inclusive and comprehensive?
