Describe the 5 components of reading (phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension). Provide examples of each.
Define, in your own words, the following components of language and provide an example of each: phonology, morphology, semantics, syntax, and pragmatics.
Explain why these components of reading and language are important for literacy development.
Theories of Language and Literacy Development
Identify evidence of current language acquisition and literacy theories and research. Explain which theory or theories you support and why.
Describe strategies, resources, or activities that support exceptional learners’ cognitive, social, emotional, cultural, and linguistic development. Address all 5 areas.
