Description
To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing to explain the circumstances that hindered my performance during the Spring/Fall of 1994, Fall 1995, Spring/Fall 1996, and Fall 1997 semesters. I wasn’t focused/prepared for the academic rigor of the schedule and classes, and I didn’t perform adequately in my courses. As a result, I received a “F” in several classes.
I am currently enrolled in prerequisites for nursing, and I plan to declare my major as nursing by Fall 2025 semester. During the Fall 2023 and Spring2024 semester I received an A in all of my classes. The Summer 2024 semester, I received a “B”. I know for certain I can attain excellent grades in this new career path while making progress towards my degree.
I take full responsibility for the decline in my academic performance 30 years ago. I am confident in my ability to meet the College’s academic standards and hope that you will be able to consider me for Academic Amnesty. Doing so, will enable me to continue moving forward with my goal of applying for the nursing program.
I’ve noticed the college catalog for 2024/2025 catalog doesn’t have a GPA criterion but the application for to petition for academic renewal policy has a criteria “at least 12 credits with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or greater must have been earned since the last semester for which clemency is being requested “. The form has a date of 1998 on the bottom left corner. Which of the two is correct.
