Description
Attorney Doe would like to give back to the community by writing an amicus brief in a pro bono capacity (providing uncompensated legal work, especially for the public good). Help her to find a worthy access to justice (ATJ) issue to address by getting oriented on the areas of law in which such issues could arise through the Mississippi Access to Justice website: http://www.msatjc.org/.
Then:
(1) Select one amicus brief from the DOJ ATJ Archive. Discuss why it is an Access to Justice issue based on the information highlighted this week related to Access to Justice and why amicus briefs are filed.
(2) Also, discuss an Access to Justice case and/or issue via an amicus brief that Attorney Doe may want to consider taking on pro bono. Explain why you feel this is an important ATJ cause to work towards on a pro bono basis. How might cultural perspectives (of the authors or the main parties of the underlying lawsuit or the general public, or you, etc.) affect interpretation of the problems addressed by this amicus brief?
